An exciting opportunity has recently arisen in our Aspria Head office in Belgium.

We are currently searching for people with exceptional talent to join us as a Human Resources Manager for Belgium for a maternity leave replacement of 8 months.

About the role

As HR Manager, you are responsible to deliver a fully comprehensive generalist HR service in line with the Group HR and Business strategy, policy and legal requirements. With the support of 2 HRBP and 1 recruiter, you are in charge of the delivery of HR objectives and goals and to business partner with the General Managers to ensure each Aspria club delivers their business objectives.

This is a multi-site HR management role covering three Aspria clubs in Brussels, Belgium and the functional support team. There are approximately 130 employees within the three clubs and 200 freelancers. This role primarily supports three General Managers and their Head of Department teams.

The role is based in the Aspria Brussels Royal La Rasante Club and requires regular travel to all three clubs within Brussels.

Your responsibilities

HR strategy: in conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer, contribute to the delivery of the HR strategy in support of the overall business strategy.

Business Partnering: being a commercial business partner to the General Managers and support them from a people perspective in a way that enables them to achieve their business objectives.

People Management: manage the HR team to deliver an efficient HR advice and administration service to each club.

Staffing: support General Managers in all aspects of resourcing including development of recruitment strategies to support the Group HR strategy, building sustainable relationships with external stakeholders, selection methods and participating in assessment of senior candidates ensuring compliance with local legislation.

Training & Development: ensuring the successful orientation of new employees, leads Training & Development programs including needs analysis and training development, enhancing the operations with the individual talents of employees.

Budgets: manage the country HR budget and partner with General Managers to manage payroll.

Legal Compliance: key contact for all legal issues regarding employment. Maintains compliance and answers legal charges.

HR Projects: manage and/or participate in HR and/or business projects to support business priorities.

Requirements and skills

  • Holds a Master in Human Resources or Psychology (or equal by experience);
  • Has at least 5 years’ experience in a comparable HR management position;
  • Experience in retail, leisure or a customer service environment is a plus;
  • Has a sound knowledge of the Belgian labour and social law;
  • Is bilingual French / English; Dutch is an asset;
  • Has strong project management and change management experience;
  • Is an excellent communicator and disposes of fluent interpersonal skills;
  • Has stakeholder management skills;
  • Is flexible and open minded;
  • Is able to multitask and set priorities;
  • Has good organization skills;
  • Has a hands-on mentality;
  • Likes to take initiatives, is naturally curious and eager to learn;
  • Is business oriented;
  • Has the ability to work with minimal supervision; team player;
  • Has excellent time management and prioritization skills and the flexibility to travel regularly to all three Aspria clubs in Brussels and to Germany or UK if required
